Navagraha Japam is a powerful chant performed to appease the Navagrahas, the nine celestial bodies in Vedic astrology, and seek their blessings for harmony, success, and protection.
To perform Navagraha Japam:
1. Create a sacred space by cleaning and purifying the area.
2. Set up the Navagraha yantra or pictures of the nine deities representing the Navagrahas.
3. Sit in a comfortable posture, facing the yantra or pictures.
4. Begin the Japam by chanting the Navagraha mantra or the individual mantras for each planet.
5. Use a mala or count beads to keep track of the repetitions. Chant each mantra multiple times, typically 108 times or in multiples of it.
6. While chanting, visualize the energy of each planet entering your being, bringing balance, positivity, and favorable influences.
7. Express gratitude to each Navagraha and seek their blessings for your well-being, success, and protection.
8. Conclude the Japam by offering prayers, performing aarati (lighting a ghee lamp), and seeking blessings from the Navagrahas.
It is recommended to perform Navagraha Japam under the guidance of a knowledgeable person or priest who can provide accurate mantras and guide you on the proper rituals and procedures. Additionally, consulting an astrologer can provide insights into your specific planetary positions and remedies for any doshas or imbalances.
